Today's Special - "A Visit to the Opera"

While Jodie is preparing for a giant "ribbon-sale", Mrs. Pennypacker is about to go to the opera. Then Mort shows up with two tickets to go to the opera with Muffy. Also, Waldo shows up with a machine that will allow Jeff to go outside the store for a few hours without turning into a mannequin. But while they're gone Jodie and Sam must hold on to the machine and follow special instructions or Jeff will be a mannequin forever. Sam and Jodie are happy to do it for Jeff who is about to go to the opera with Waldo but when Harvey Hardcassel from head office shows up to inspect the store, Jodie and Sam may be in trouble so the others - including Jeff - decides to stay and help Jodie and Sam. Jodie and Sam show up an opera they imagine called "The Rainmakers" where they are two Apple Farmers who travel to the clouds and request rain. The rainmakers include Jeff as lightning, Mrs. P as the wind, Muffy and Mort as pitter and patter, and Mr. Hardcassel as thunder.

Rainbow Valley is a 1935 Western film released by Monogram Pictures, written by Lindsley Parsons, directed by Robert N. Bradbury and starring John Wayne. Main character (John Martin) is very polite and genial. On a ride to the small town of Paradise Valley, he runs into an "old-timer" (George) who is looking for water for his car. Martin is surprised to see a car; he gives the old timer his entire canteen of water. George, the mailman for the area, starts his car back up and heads down the road. Farther down, the road is being watched by highwaymen who have set up an ambush. Martin is riding on the same road and sees the highwaymen chasing George. Martin follows and takes on the highwaymen, but not before the last one shoots George. Martin leaps from his horse to the car; George is okay, the bullet only grazed his skull. Martin hitches his horse on the back of the car and rides into town with George. Martin takes George taken to the town doctor. Meanwhile, the townspeople ar! e rallying against the gang of highwaymen. The people of Paradise Valley are trying to build a road and modernize the town. They want to bring in "law and order" to the area because they're tired of being abused and terrorized by the gang. Our thing lately has been to sneak down to the forgotten stretches of beach here in Southern California and camp out. It's the shoulder season, so the weather is warm, but the beaches aren't patrolled much, so it's easy to hide a tent, light up a bonfire, and throw back some drinks. This video was after a wild night of surfing at 1am under the full moon with our friend Mondo Marcus for his birthday. The whole time we were saying to each other, "Seriously! Why doesn't anyone else do this kind of thing? This is awesome!" We may have been the only people on the whole stretch of California coast surfing that night at 1am. The next day I got a text from a buddy of mine who sent me a picture of his tent....it turns out he was camped out just a few miles north of us---inspired by our stories of sneaking down to the beach. Love it! It's sometimes hard to tell in the video, but this is a live video, filmed at our beachfront "living room." A section of the bamboo forest behind us has ! fallen over on itself and has formed a tunnel. The tunnel leads to a small open space in the bamboo where we set up our tent. It's a killer spot. Waking up to a glassy ocean, dolphins strolling by, leftover burritos for breakfast, the sunrise at our backs...everyone says they want to join us....but when the moment of truth rolls around it's always the same true friends around that good ol' bonfire. check out our music here: www.wheelandbrothers.com
