Rainbow Valley is a 1935 Western film released by Monogram Pictures, written by Lindsley Parsons, directed by Robert N. Bradbury and starring John Wayne. Main character (John Martin) is very polite and genial. On a ride to the small town of Paradise Valley, he runs into an "old-timer" (George) who is looking for water for his car. Martin is surprised to see a car; he gives the old timer his entire canteen of water. George, the mailman for the area, starts his car back up and heads down the road. Farther down, the road is being watched by highwaymen who have set up an ambush. Martin is riding on the same road and sees the highwaymen chasing George. Martin follows and takes on the highwaymen, but not before the last one shoots George. Martin leaps from his horse to the car; George is okay, the bullet only grazed his skull. Martin hitches his horse on the back of the car and rides into town with George. Martin takes George taken to the town doctor. Our thing lately has been to sneak down to the forgotten stretches of beach here in Southern California and camp out. It's the shoulder season, so the weather is warm, but the beaches aren't patrolled much, so it's easy to hide a tent, light up a bonfire, and throw back some drinks. This video was after a wild night of surfing at 1am under the full moon with our friend Mondo Marcus for his birthday. The whole time we were saying to each other, "Seriously! Why doesn't anyone else do this kind of thing? This is awesome!" We may have been the only people on the whole stretch of California coast surfing that night at 1am. The next day I got a text from a buddy of mine who sent me a picture of his tent....it turns out he was camped out just a few miles north of us---inspired by our stories of sneaking down to the beach. Love it! It's sometimes hard to tell in the video, but this is a live video, filmed at our beachfront "living room." A section of the bamboo forest behind us has ! fallen over on itself and has formed a tunnel. The tunnel leads to a small open space in the bamboo where we set up our tent. It's a killer spot. Waking up to a glassy ocean, dolphins strolling by, leftover burritos for breakfast, the sunrise at our backs...everyone says they want to join us....but when the moment of truth rolls around it's always the same true friends around that good ol' bonfire. check out our music here: www.wheelandbrothers.com

This album is a combination of a quartet from Moscow Russia and duet guitar pieces playing John Coltrane songs recorded in Colorado Springs Colorado at my home then. The Russian recordings feature; Andre Mongush-egil and voice (Tuvan Throat Singer) Vera Sazhena- voice Bob Amacher-Boudin drum and my self on flamenco guitar. I was on tour with another project all over Russia and I met these very unique musicians in Moscow. Unique in their originality and unusually Bob and Vera are Shamans in the literal sense. They practce Shamanism as a way of life. Andre is a Tuvan from in and around Kazil, Tuva from a family of sheep herders. It was explained to me that Tuvans are nomads and they have summer and winter homes where they move which happens to be a yurt which is moved as American indians moved their tipis with the seasons. Fences are outlawed in Tuva. I felt in very good company in the recording studio surrounded be two shamans and Tuvan. Bob arranged the studio and the engine! er and I mixed and mastered it. Created by Polish filmmaker Victoria Szymanska and French dancer Mariam Faquir, the video is an international collaboration. It uses 8mm film projections over live action to create a surreal and dreamlike landscape that blurs the line between the past and the present to heartbreaking effect. Szymanska, a long-time friend of Meckler, currently lives in London and Berlin, though the two first met in Paris in 2003 while Meckler was working as an actress and director. The two artists collaborated on various video projects. Szymanska's work has been shown at a variety of venues, including the Warsaw Film Festival. She is currently in talks with Facets, Chicago, regarding an upcoming exhibition of her work. Faquir lives and works in Paris and is co-founder, along with Meckler, of Bobine Thea! tre, a progressive theater and dance company. Faquir has received widespread recognition for her ground-breaking work in Paris and Brussels. "Manhattan" was penned during Meckler's time spent in the eponymous city. Her beautifully fragile voice perfectly encapsulates moments of devastation, isolation and finally a comforting resolve with her new surroundings.
