Julie Meckler : Manhattan

Find it on ITUNES itunes.apple.com Julie Meckler is proud to announce the release of her first music video, "Manhattan." The song is the first single off her upcoming album, due out this year. Created by Polish filmmaker Victoria Szymanska and French dancer Mariam Faquir, the video is an international collaboration. Szymanska, a long-time friend of Meckler, currently lives in London and Berlin, though the two first met in Paris in 2003 while Meckler was working as an actress and director. The two artists collaborated on various video projects. Szymanska's work has been shown at a variety of venues, including the Warsaw Film Festival. She is currently in talks with Facets, Chicago, regarding an upcoming exhibition of her work. Faquir lives and works in Paris and is co-founder, along with Meckler, of Bobine Thea! tre, a progressive theater and dance company. Faquir has received widespread recognition for her ground-breaking work in Paris and Brussels. "Manhattan" was penned during Meckler's time spent in the eponymous city. Leaving behind a life as a theater actress in her native Paris, Meckler emigrated to the US in early 2008 and bought her first guitar in New York ...
